Dead Letters Office
The sacred nature of the written word and the intense privacy of a letter have led into intriguing examinations of public and private hierarchy and the dichotomies of an intensely private public service; the main purpose and smallest scale of which appears to be considered unimportant and thus may well be under threat. The proposal explores this through the unique systems of a dead letters office, where letter detectives locate the owners of lost letters.
