The Finnish Institute

At present, the Finnish Institute is in London and as an organisation; the idea is to identify emerging issues in contemporary society and to act as a catalyst to bring positive change though partnerships. The project acts like a competition and the brief is to design Finnish Institute in Newcastle upon Tyne. As they are already established in London since 20 years, the reason and intentions behind the design of the project needs to be strong enough to convince the clients to move the institute to Newcastle. We choose a cultural field which for me is furniture designing and find a local agent. Designing a space for this agent acts as a prototype to inform design process for the project. Finally, the new cultural field, the idea and design of its mergence with the Finnish Institute will be an attraction to move the institution to Newcastle.
